Before everything. Just a kid, a polo shirt, and an open horizon. The portrait that started it all.

This is the first portrait I ever took with intent. A friend on a rooftop, looking at nothing in particular, on a cheap camera I had just figured out how to focus. It still teaches me more than most of the gear that came after. The work began here.
